About this Project
The City Administrator is coordinating public, private and nonprofit partners to discuss safety, cleanliness and improvement in Central Market and the Tenderloin. Some of these ideas will be incorporated into Community Benefit Agreements with local companies. Others will be delivered by government, nonprofit and community partners.
This work builds on ongoing efforts of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Neighborhood Empowerment Network, community organizations and businesses.
An Inclusive Approach
On September 24th, we hosted a lunch meeting with over 70 key leaders in attendance. Neighbors’ ideas and insights were collected from written input, SMS, Twitter, and Neighborland. All of this input will be aggregated here on Neighborland.
You can support ideas (tap the "me too" button). Or, share your own idea with the "I Want _____" form below. You can also share ideas with Twitter or SMS:
- Tweet your idea: I want ______ #centralmarketsf
- Text your idea: “I want _____” to (415) 801-3944
On October 1, we will have a public Town Hall meeting at the Main Library. Information from that event and others throughout October will be collected on Neighborland.
Making it Happen
Ideas will be evaluated on the basis of impact, feasibility and scope. Neighborland will provide workers, residents and the community a chance to weigh in on these ideas to pick finalists. The final decision will be made by the City Administrator, with input from the Central Market and Tenderloin Citizens Advisory Committee.
