San Francisco has an indescribable vibe that's beckoned me since I was 12 years old when I would take BART from Fremont just to be amongst this City's eclectic and diverse blend people, architecture and geographical beauty. The love I have for San Francisco and its people is beyond words... when I leave here I am unplugged from the natural energy source I am now so connected to. "San Francisco is the greatest city on the planet."

With 26 years of multi-faceted Marketing/Product Development and Business Development split between the Silicon Valley and Financial Services, the San Francisco Bay Area is and always will be home. Now, I find that my interests, both career and personal, are geared toward interior design, organization and process improvement projects and anything requiring the use of power tools.

I absolutely love this idea...

I've been looking for a workshop/space for the repurposing and lighting projects I create. Maybe there are some vacant warehouse spaces that have been available for a while that would be open to utilizing the space for individual workshop or work/live spaces. Also, the bottom floor could be used for individual show and sell spaces which could also include a funky eatery or soup/salad bar.

Would anyone be open to team up and put together a proposal to lure some venture capital interests?

We should try to get some people together. I want to hear more about how you think it would be of interest to VCs.

CivicMakers might be a good place to expand upon the idea more: www.eventbrite.com/e/citycamps...

Very cool idea... it's so San Francisco! I think it may be a great way to repurpose materials from demolished buildings... each one would be unique.

Hello there,

I think this is a wonderful idea! And "Pop-Up Music" could travel to other parks/venues... similarly to how Sunday Streets moves around city to different Neighborhoods. I think that a weekly performance, at least in the beginning, may be a bit much for logistics reasons unless there's a very organized team to carry out the set up logistics. I managed very large trade shows and corporate events for over 20 years and would be able to help out wherever you may need it. Best, DeeDee

Hey there... One thought would be to include an array of music styles... With an amateur to open and then a professional band/former... Classical, Jazz, Regge, DJ/House/Trance.... ETC.

In addition to my previous comment about what sorts of music/bands... We may also want to consider other forms os entertainment in addition to Music -- such as Multicultural Dance, Theatre... etc.

I think a good goal may be considering music and art that somehow ties into the original goals of the U.N. back in 1919:

"to promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security"
