I really hope they don't add more condos either...3a and WInn St cannot handle the volume as it is. I would like to see a space with a small open area in the center...maybe a few picnic tables, very small granite amphitheater, small sculpture park, or something,,,small storefronts around for a few small local businesses given a tax incentive to open there...Maybe a small gym, a music store of some sort, antiques/art store, a lunch spot or diner, you get the idea...not another bank, not condos, not a tax place; make a place for all ages to go and enjoy. This area could have small events for local musicians, art shows, and more. I am sure the corporate money is working hard to put a bank there as we speak...

I agree completely - no banks, no Walmart/CVS type stores. No towering condos. A nice walkable area with small businesses. The Orange Leaf was a great example of an attractive small business and now it's gone. Love the idea of an antique/art store. Let's have something classy and not big box/ big chain businesses!

Unfortunately I've heard that is currently allowed under the PDD (Planned Development District) for the site. In order for the proponents to get something else in there other than what is being presented they would have to go before Town Meeting (which would require a 2/3 majority).

Agreed.
Cathy, do you know what the process for that would be? Thanks!

Planning Burlington

There is a forum tonight to talk about this particular topic at 6:30 PM at the Grandview Farms Barn (55 Center Street, Burlington MA). We would love for you to come and participate.

This road needs to be clearly marked as 4 lanes or 2 lanes. Or perhaps 3 lanes with center lane for turns only. Current markings are entirely unclear.

Agreed - the entire length needs to clearly indicate the number of lanes. While this is a state road, I am confident the state will respond to a clear request by the town. Having 3 lanes in general is a good solution, particularly at lights to separate the left turning traffic from other traffic.

Couldn't agree with you more. It is one of the most dangerous roads I travel on a daily basis as a Burlington resident.
