The lights and signage are up outside Old Main! 700 LED lights look good in pictures (below), but they’re even more special in person. They’ll be up through the end of January. We hope you stop by to see them shine.

Thank you all again for helping Light Up Campus!

They do lights in the New Center along Second and Grand Blvd that look similar - always my favorite part of the holiday!

The four or five trees down Agnes in West Village that stay lighted all year really do make a HUGE difference in atmosphere! Can't wait to see this.

Update! The Office of Economic Development has launched a crowdfunding campaign through Wayne State’s new Warrior Funder platform to raise money to purchase and install holiday lights on campus.

Learn more: warriorfunder.wayne.edu/lightu...

Our goal is to debut the lights in early Dec. and let them shine through the end of Jan.—lighting up campus for Wayne State students and employees, neighborhood residents and businesses, and visitors. Please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or $25 to help us get started towards our goal of $3,000. Donate $50 and you can help decide where the lights should go!

There is the Detroit Film Theatre (www.dia.org/detroitfilmtheatre...) and Cinema Detroit (cinemadetroit.com/).

However, I am thinking you mean something more akin to a cineplex.

Mos def. Some kind of multi-screen theater, but not too suburbanite, i.e., some along the lines of the Main Art in Royal Oak, or Maple Art in Bloomfield Hills would be fab.

All great ideas. Thanks, Marecia! We do love the Detroit Film Theatre and Cinema Detroit. We will certainly keep this mind and hope that you check out the free outdoor movies at New Center Park in the summer months!

It sure would be nice.

We need true separation, so many of the new bike lanes in this city are being partially used by cars. Take for instance MLK between Rosa Parks and University of Detroit Dental University. (~18th street). Cars are always driving into the bike lanes.

I know they are sort of prototyping a bike lane with a barrier by Jefferson and Alter, but this needs to be fast tracked.

Check out the latest progress in creating more amenities for bike parking at Wayne State! New racks at the Student Center provide semi-sheltered space for six bicycles.
