Construction is now complete at Fountain Court! There is new grass, trees, sidewalks and even the fountain is back in operation. Take care to stay off the grass as it grows roots. There will soon be outdoor seating with electrical outlets installed to facilitate your outdoor work-study needs. Tell us what you think!

This summer you can look forward to Fountain Court undergoing a transformation to become a more green space, perfect for having a lunchtime picnic or studying in the sun between classes.

The Fountain sculpture will remain where it is currently located, but the concrete walls will be coming down to make way for more grass, trees and benches, just in time for classes to start in September!

We are pleased to announce more green space coming to main campus at the Keast Commons park behind the DeRoy Apartment Building! This under-utilized playground will be transformed to provide more space for recreation starting in June.

As for the playground equipment, much of it is end-of-life, broken and/or dangerous and will be disposed of or recycled. Any remaining equipment will be moved to the University Towers playground which is expecting a face-lift as part of the future Cass & Canfield development project.

I would definitely like to see a community charcoal grill! Especially in such close proximity to two of three of the apartment buildings!

That is a wonderful idea :):) though I think the university would want to keep their monopoly on (ahem lousy) dorm food. It is something we could lobby the city or Midtown Detroit Inc for, at a park close to campus, such as at Stone Park at Forest and the Lodge, or Art Center Park across from CCS!
