SF has a wonderful dog rescue philosophy and we want to adopt animals in need and give them a high quality lifestyle. They benefit our health and lives in so many ways and we need to do the same for them.
Unfortunately, there are people who steal dogs left outside of businesses so cafes/businesses with walk up windows or dog-friendly sections would be greatly appreciated.
I drive my dog over to Esprit Park on the weekends because she likes to roll on her back in real grass. She also chews on it for digestion. It is a necessary food for good health, like salad for humans. sfrecpark.org/destination/espr...
I understand that AstroTurf is affordable but it's mainly for running and attractiveness. It does not cover all the bases for a dogs health.
Furthermore, we need sandboxes specifically for dogs to dig. It's a natural part of their daily activity. We need digging-boxes that are self-contained and that offer a screen/colander-type thing so we can filter out the stuff humans will inevitably throw in there.
