22 neighbors want CommuniTEA – a night of drinking tea, talking about community, and sharing resources/ideas during the NOW! festival.

Made it happen
The NOW! festival is all about community. I will be hosting an evening where we gather and hear from a few speakers who are experienced community organizers. We'll also have time to engage the speakers and connect with one another. We will gather at the Tea Oasis which is inside The Center SF at 548 Fillmore street between oak and fell. The event will also double as a resource share so bring your extra Seeds, Kombucha mothers, Books, ETC!!

The event will be Wednesday November 19 7-10 pm. Guests can feel free to remain in the space, and connect with eachother until midnight.

The flow of the evening will be:

7:15-7:30 A talk on why tea is a mechanism for building community, by Tea Oasis founder Travis Sigley

7:40-8:40 A talk on Social Permaculture by environmental educator, permaculture designer and community organizer Pandora Thomas, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A discussion.

9:00-10:00 A talk on Community Resilience from NOW! founder Wigg Party President and community organizer Morgan Fitzgibbons, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A discussion.

10:10-12:00 Resource/idea sharing open forum: Guests can mingle around the space. Connect with one another over tea, and share ideas and resources.

A minimum donation of $10 is requested to cover the cost of the space, the tea, and transportation for some of the speakers

Wow. What an amazing week! Definitely our best NOW! festival ever.

Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen - from the organizing team who put in months of work to anyone who hosted an event or donated headsets or clothes or designed fliers and posters to anyone who took some time out of their ordinary week to come participate in something extraordinary.

We'll be back again in the fall. We hope you'll join us. In the meantime, take a stroll through our amazing week here:

Mystic Tea at Tea Oasis SF featuring Tarot Mystic Inbal Meron
Friday, April 24, 2015, 7:00pm - 11:30 pm
The Center SF 548 Fillmore St

It's been a long time coming! Mystic Tea is making its return to Tea Oasis SF. This time around, we've a professional tarot reader coming through! Inbal Meron will be coming to host a talk about tarot reading and how it works, then will be giving tarot readings throughout the evening for a donation of some of your cash money!

Also, Tea Oasis has a few house tarot decks, so feel free to grab one and practice giving and receiving readings with friends! If tarot and/or mysticism is a point of your interest and practice, come on down and weave the web of ritual and magic with us!

Come sit in the dragon’s den, at a teahouse between the worlds: The Tea Oasis, 548 Fillmore Street.

$10 (or free for Tea Oasis members) gets you all the tea you can drink from a smorgasbord of Puerhs and Potions, Teas and Roots and Flowers, Stems and Leaves from the healing gardens of Plant Whispers served in a communal, ceremonial yet fluid and relaxed style. The pinnacle of the night will be from 8-11, however your donation allows you to drink tea from 2pm to Midnight. This is a no-alcohol and no-technology space.

Please bring any potion or herbs you would like to share. You are invited to bring your tarot cards or other means of magical interaction and playfulness. Magical raiment is celebrated.
