Coming soon to Folsom!

"Set to open at 690 Folsom Street—the futuristic building at the corner of Folsom and Third Street—SPiN will have two bars, a kitchen, multiple private rooms, and 16 ping pong tables. No official menu has been released for the San Francisco outpost, but you can expect bar-friendly fare such as hot dogs, pizza, and sliders along with a full menu of liquors and cocktails."

From the photos on the link, the place nice so are far. It more of those style looking places one would see in places like San Jose, Milpitas, Danville, Pleasanton and Santa Clara. We need some those type looking places that mostly fit the San Francisco Bay Area to be in the City. But I could be wrong from the two photos the link has.

The creator of Henge tables, New Yorker Alan Good, inspired me to post that idea. He shared some info on the tables on this Boulder ping pong idea: neighborland.com/ideas/bldr-no... . Also, there apparently is one of his tables somewhere in SF.

Great idea. Considering SF's diverse demographics (including newer and older) and weather (often conducive to indoor sports at night), it's often been odd to me that someone hasn't yet crafted a huge, well-conceived ping pong + bar destination that appeals to a diverse clientele. To make it a true SF gem, might I suggest a location on the rapidly changing Market Street that would be walkable for SOMA dwellers and visitors as well as Muni friendly for residents from Chinatown and West SF.

Mid Market seems like a great idea. How big of a space are you thinking?

I am a huge fan of this sport. It would be amazing to go to bars where I can play my favorite sport with my friends.

Parisoma also has a pretty incredible ping pong setup in their co-working space.

The Mission Rec Center (between 20th and 21st on Harrison) is great—they have three tables and it's usually quite busy on Saturdays. I go there pretty often, but I'm usually playing racquetball.

I've been to Dear Mom for the past 2 Saturdays. No one else came for the table so we played 7 games straight.

Also, I just heard about a community center at 21st and folsom (or so). Its got 2 tables, and apparently its free!

Where is there a table in Dear Mom? I was there a month ago and didn't see anything.
