Join us for the Grand Opening Party of SPiN San Francisco! Doors open to the public at 9:30PM with a special performance by world champion beatboxer, KRNFX and a local DJ who will be spinning tunes until 2AM.
Note – SPiN will be closed during the day for event set up and doors will open at 9:30PM.
"Ping-pong pandemonium" has officially begun at the new SoMa restaurant/bar/ping-pong space, co-owned by Susan Sarandon.
Coming soon to Folsom!
"Set to open at 690 Folsom Street—the futuristic building at the corner of Folsom and Third Street—SPiN will have two bars, a kitchen, multiple private rooms, and 16 ping pong tables. No official menu has been released for the San Francisco outpost, but you can expect bar-friendly fare such as hot dogs, pizza, and sliders along with a full menu of liquors and cocktails."
Great idea. Considering SF's diverse demographics (including newer and older) and weather (often conducive to indoor sports at night), it's often been odd to me that someone hasn't yet crafted a huge, well-conceived ping pong + bar destination that appeals to a diverse clientele. To make it a true SF gem, might I suggest a location on the rapidly changing Market Street that would be walkable for SOMA dwellers and visitors as well as Muni friendly for residents from Chinatown and West SF.
I've been to Dear Mom for the past 2 Saturdays. No one else came for the table so we played 7 games straight.
Also, I just heard about a community center at 21st and folsom (or so). Its got 2 tables, and apparently its free!
