What is the Muni Art Project?
Through the Muni Art 2018 Project, neighbors help curate public art in our Muni buses. The 100 Muni Art buses will showcase this year’s theme, “The Art of Poetry in San Francisco”. Five preselected poems will be interpreted visually by this year’s winners.
The deadline for artist to submit proposals was June 16th. A committee which included local gallery owners and arts institutions chose the finalists, and the public will vote for the top five finalists between July 24 - August 28. In addition to having their art displayed on buses, the artist who receives the most votes will be awarded $2,000 and each of the remaining four will each be awarded $1,250.
