Hey! I'm Brittany, the one New Yorker always looking up instead of down. The architecture and street activity is just too good to pass by.

Before I moved to New York I was an urban planner in St. Louis working in land and water conservation and building more greenways around the city. Now I'm advocating for reuse projects around NY.

I'm a sucker for physically-separated bike lanes, parklets, an abundance of trees running down each street and live music everywhere all the time.

The idea was sparked by NYC's MTA Underground Music program and it just makes sense to take it to the streets. Union Square and other plazas around the city have live music. It would be great if more dancing was encouraged though.

This is a fantastic idea. Thanks for posting, Brittany. Few things are more welcome to see in public space than some dancing-- especially when the DJ has a deep selection of funk music.
