If there are more "crafts" markets, I would like to see them be true crafts markets, like the women who crochet those great animal hats even! People who make their own jewelry, not just buy and sell it.

What is there now is nothing more than a re-sellers market for those who buy with a tax exempt ID number and just re-sell at flea markets and apparently the "crafts" fair that is in UN Plaza now.

A once per month gathering of street vendors all in one place would be nice.

San Francisco State University Chancellor: Enroll SFSU in Commuter Benefits program, help make transit affordable

SF has a world-class transit system but it costs working class commuters a high percentage of our earnings. SFSU could help by offering reduced cost...

This petition is worded very poorly. Commuter benefit programs is a pre-tax PAYROLL DEDUCTION for employees only as per federal law. Students cannot use this program as they are not employees.

Also, SF State is not mandated by city law to participate in a commuter benefit program (this is state property), but has done so voluntarily for its employees.

Lastly, SF State does not have a chancellor

Check out more info on the Commuter Benefits program:

If SFSU is enrolled in this program we would have more bargaining power with MUNI/BART.

Commuter Check is already offered to all staff and faculty of the university through pre-tax payroll deduction. They simply sign-up at the Parking & Transportation office and enroll online.

There is no bigger discounts if more join, it's all determined based on what you earn and how much each person saves by getting it deducted pre-tax from their paycheck.

One day you might decide to become a student again and then you might see why this idea makes sense.
