I love the *idea* of bicycle riding, but I am absolutely terrified to do it in the streets of my neighborhood. I have been hit (and run) by a car while crossing the street in the cross walk for crying out loud, how the hell am I going to stay alive as a bike rider with all the distracted idiot drivers in this town and not even a decent bike lane on most streets? There's a big project coming up to "revitalize" Van Ness Avenue near where I live. From what I've heard, they are going to make a transit-only lane and have MUNI riders board their buses at a center median island (let's tell the Google buses to suck it!) I can't really picture how it's all going to work, but I hope the plan for bike lane inclusion doesn't suck. We need more bike coops in town, and definitely one that's open 24/7.

Groups like the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition need to use their influence to get dedicated cycle paths throughout the City.
This will involve limiting the number of autos allowed in the City. And they also need to sponsor a helmet law.

What an awesome idea. I'd love to participate in making it happen if you actually get the project started :)
