Interesting post about 'Whoville' and other urban camping sites:

"An 'sanctuary camp' known as Whoville prompted the passage of this ordinance by city council. The tent city has been forced to migrate to several different locations, but has since found sanctuary for four months on a piece of left-over public land at an intersection near downtown. The site has reached physical capacity with 40-50 people camping there along with gathering and cooking spaces. Port-a-pots, hand washing stations, and trash collection is funded by a local non-profit known as the Nightingale Collective. The community has vowed to stick together and move to a different site if the city follows through with eviction."

Interesting story Tom! Thanks! You know, if the campsite were state-of-the-art or a large enough to help every homeless person out there, it would still be cheaper, cost-wise, for all the medical, legal, non-profit subsidies, other costly services, and so forth that we pay out now. A study was shown that it actually is cheaper to house every single one of them in a unit anyway. A campsite to me is quicker, cheaper, and stable considering most homeless people have a hard time being in a stable environment anyway. If they're going to live in a tent anyway, then why not let them live where there's drinking water, showers, restrooms, laundry, and a place where they can set up their stoves or bar b que pits? Granted, they are still going to have problems such as security, drugs & alcohol, death and illnesses etc. (as if we don't have those issues anyway) but you offer the bare living essentials and you clear out the way so businesses can thrive, even curbing some of the crime rate. It's just all the bullshit red-tape you have to go through just to implement a plan like this is what gets me. Politicians always find a way to eff up everything that could be so simple. The reason why people are fed up and supporting someone like Trump now. But let's not talk about that anyway. :-D
