Hello there,

I think this is a wonderful idea! And "Pop-Up Music" could travel to other parks/venues... similarly to how Sunday Streets moves around city to different Neighborhoods. I think that a weekly performance, at least in the beginning, may be a bit much for logistics reasons unless there's a very organized team to carry out the set up logistics. I managed very large trade shows and corporate events for over 20 years and would be able to help out wherever you may need it. Best, DeeDee

Hey there... One thought would be to include an array of music styles... With an amateur to open and then a professional band/former... Classical, Jazz, Regge, DJ/House/Trance.... ETC.

In addition to my previous comment about what sorts of music/bands... We may also want to consider other forms os entertainment in addition to Music -- such as Multicultural Dance, Theatre... etc.

I think a good goal may be considering music and art that somehow ties into the original goals of the U.N. back in 1919:

"to promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security"

I believe part of this is happening with the current mid/central market plan. The added food truck days are helping revitalize this blighted area. The farmers market days are helping too. Power washing / cleaning up some of the adjacent buildings' exterior might also help - (power washing). The newly renovated 50 UN Plaza building is a wonderful improvement. The homeless population in the plaza seems to had gone down. All in all the blighted mid/central Market area is improving.
