For the past three Fridays we have welcomed crowds of film lovers to the PROXY Walk-in Theater for free screenings of recent Sundance and SXSW selections. Our two final screenings—Secret Shorts this Friday, and The Wolfpack on November 13—are not to be missed.
We're continuing "Pause, Play, Connect" every Friday from 11am - 2pm with the City's Invest in Neighborhoods program. We bring the tables, chairs, and free-play pianos. You bring a smile.

I think this is a wonderful idea! And "Pop-Up Music" could travel to other parks/venues... similarly to how Sunday Streets moves around city to different Neighborhoods. I think that a weekly performance, at least in the beginning, may be a bit much for logistics reasons unless there's a very organized team to carry out the set up logistics. I managed very large trade shows and corporate events for over 20 years and would be able to help out wherever you may need it. Best, DeeDee
I believe part of this is happening with the current mid/central market plan. The added food truck days are helping revitalize this blighted area. The farmers market days are helping too. Power washing / cleaning up some of the adjacent buildings' exterior might also help - (power washing). The newly renovated 50 UN Plaza building is a wonderful improvement. The homeless population in the plaza seems to had gone down. All in all the blighted mid/central Market area is improving.
